On my journey to decide which reptile would be my first a large amount of research had to be done. Which reptiles are friendly and easy to tame down, what reptiles are not expensive to keep, and so on. I finally decided on a Leopard Gecko, but once you have one you will soon realize that owning reptiles is addictive. So of course I wanted to get another species, but now I had to consider space requirements. There’s only so much room for cages, so I needed to decide what size cage I could fit in and what reptiles could live comfortably in that size cage. Additionally, I wanted to find which reptiles eat mealworms since I was raising them for my leopard geckos. There are so many factors and they can be spread out between many different sites. Petiles was created for this reason.
The entire goal of this site was to take as much information about different reptiles and placing it in one easy to navigate site. The main feature that I was looking to implement was the search function. I wanted to make it simple to locate reptiles based on different factors such as minimum cage size, diet, and so on. On top of this, I wanted to provide a list of reputable breeders as well as a list to other sites on which to perform research. I also wanted to provide a blog to share different care tips, reviews of products, and news from the world of reptiles. It will take time to build up the list of care sheets, but I will be constantly working on the site to add more information.
The First Care Sheet on Petiles.com
I wish I could say with one hundred percent certainty that everything on this site will be completely accurate. Unfortunately, this will not always be the case – I am only human. If you are looking through the site and see something that is wrong, please contact me. I want to provide accurate information. Care Sheets will be reviewed and improved over time. Breeders who want to be added to the site’s list send an email. Include your business name, website URL, or Facebook page. I will consider adding the site/business to the Breeders page.
That’s all there is to this site, it’s simply here to be a source of information. Reptiles are wonderful creatures and can make very rewarding pets. Before you go out and purchase one though, you need to perform research and be sure of what you want. If you don’t have any idea of what you are doing, it can be dangerous for your reptile. I sincerely hope that this website can be of some help on your journey into reptile ownership. I wish you the best of luck in your search for the reptile that fits you best!
